Chip Eng Seng Corporation Ltd (CES) is a multinational conglomerate company with businesses in construction, civil infrastructure, precast technology, environmental, property development and investment, hospitality, as well as education.
Founded in the 1960s, the Group started its business as a building subcontractor for conventional and landed properties, and was appointed as main contractor for its first Housing & Development Board (“HDB”) project in 1982. Over the years, it grew from strength to strength and diversified into the construction of private condominium projects and engaged in precast technology.
In 2018, CES diversified into education and created CES Education. In 2020, CES Education adopted the current name Sing-Ed Global Schoolhouse to reflect its positioning and branding as an education provider with global aspirations.
Sing-Ed Global Schoolhouse Pte Ltd (“SEGSH”) has been renamed CES Education Pte Ltd (“CESE”) whilst CES WL Pte Ltd (“CESWL”) has been renamed Sing-Ed Corporation Pte Ltd (“Sing-Ed”). The name changes are part of the recent Group’s restructuring exercise to make CESWL an operating company for K12 schools while reducing SEGSH to just an investment holding company.
Following the name changes, CESE has ceased to use “Sing-Ed Global Schoolhouse” trademark whilst Sing-Ed has adopted the “Sing-Ed” trademark.
Sing-Ed strives to be an investor in sustainable education for the long term to create value in all its investments. Ranging from preschool to higher education and education services, particularly those that leverage technologies in Singapore and internationally, Sing-Ed aims to be an internationally recognized brand, with a strong presence and focus in East-Asia.
